Unscripted ad by Matt Dickson wins Sirens round four

02 Dec 15 Radio creative director Matt Dickson, winner of the Gold Siren for 2015, is the overall winner of round four of the 2016 Siren Awards. Dickson, from Southern Cross Austereo, won the overall and single award for his unscripted ad “Dutch Oven”, which features a husband annoying his wife by farting in bed and then being unapologetic about it.

Fast talking ad from George Patterson Y&R wins Sirens round three

23 Oct 15 An ad by George Patterson Y&R titled “Fast Conversation” for client Public Transport Victoria (PTV) has won round three overall and the single category of the 2016 Siren Awards.  The ad features two mates waiting for the train, speaking very fast, before the next train arrives.

Marketforce’s “Cat Shark” wins Sirens round two

06 Aug 15 Marketforce’s ad “iiNet NBN Buffering Cat Shark” for client iiNet has won the single category and round two overall of the 2016 Siren Awards. Marketforce’s “Loading” wins Sirens round one

11 Jul 15 Guy Hamilton Howlett and Neil Martin from Marketforce Perth have won the single ad category and round one overall of the Siren Awards 2016, with a radio ad for iiNet called “Loading.”   The ad promotes iiNet’s new super-fast cable internet and uses a voice and two sentences to recreate the experience of waiting for your internet to load.  [more] file type .pdf

We Don't Do Husbands campaign wins Gold Siren Award

14 May 15 An ad campaign promoting Allpest has won the 2015 Gold Siren award for the best radio advertising of the year.  The three ads in the campaign “We Don’t Do Husbands”, by Matt Dickson, Creative Solutions Director at Southern Cross Austereo Perth, also took out the Silver Siren award in the Radio Campaign category.

Finalists & hosts announced for Siren Awards best radio ad of 2015

30 Apr 15 Australia’s leading ad agencies, radio stations and production studios are amongst the finalists announced today and in the running for the Siren Awards Best Radio Ad of 2015.  Comedy, emotion, outstanding voice over talent and clever use of sound effects are common elements included in the list of finalist ads, for products as diverse as tennis tickets and pest control, to women in engineering and cancer awareness.

New format for Siren Awards to announce Best Radio Ad of the Year

21 Apr 15 The Siren Awards Best Radio Ad for 2015 will be announced on 14 May in a new evening format. The 11th national Siren Awards run by Commercial Radio Australia will take place at Bar 100 in The Rocks in a less formal format with drinks and canapés. [more] file type .pdf

Australian Open Tennis radio ads ace Round 5 of Siren Awards

12 Mar 15
Radio ads for the Australian Open Tennis have aced Round 5 of the Siren Awards, taking out the overall win, the single, craft and campaign categories.  The single ad “Ball of Fire” by Cummins&Partners creative team, Chris Ellis and Aaron Lipson, used audio from a miniature microphone attached to a tennis ball served at 234 km, to take radio listeners closer to the tennis action.
